Accelerated Maths II

This is probably as crazy as a Maths subject would ever get. Check out the picture below. Click on it to get a better view. We are supposed to be learning theorems on sequences and functions and this one of the examples the lecturer used to explain how functions work. That white guy at the bottom of the screen is our Maths lecturer. According to one of my friends, he look like the guy that appears on the board game of Monopoly.

Lost!!!

I don't really know what on earth to blog about these days. Just been mucking around these last two weeks. Its gets really boring at times here when there is nothing to do here. But when there is stuff to do, it just stacks and piles up. Looks like I need to step up a gear and get rid of all the carried forward work left over. Got to go get things done now, stay tuned in, going to go to Philip Island soon, can expect many beautiful pictures from that trip.

Surprise by Buddies

Was Friday evening and was in Uni when Sky messages me asking whether I will be going over for the meeting. In the message, he says they are planning something so need to know whether I am coming in order to organize the plan. It never came to my mind what exactly they were up to. So I also stupid fella. So, I went there to meet them. As i stepped in, Berenice wished me Happy Birthday. That made me just a bit suspicious. But besides that wish, they all acted as if there was nothing going on. So everyone chatting and having dinner as usual. Sounds like a market at times when there are so many of us together. They can be recommended to act in Hollywood for real. Then, as we finished dinner, there goes the surprise. Ms. Thailand a.k.a Pai brings the cake while Mr. Penang a.k.a Sky plays the guitar. You can guess the rest and let the pictures do the talking. To top it off, they got me a chocolate cake, with ice-cream some more. Really had a memorable day. Got a really well written card from them too with so many meaningful messages. A normal boring day became an extraordinarily memorable day.

Wallabies

A day-off after intense exam on Friday. Went to Uni to do some Maths in the morning. After finishing what I set out to do, Sky called. Myself and Lyn walked to KFC to meet him. Went to Bundoora, somewhere near La Trobe University. Thats where Julius stays. Went to see around his room and where he stays. Went to some park near his place. The park had a beautiful view of the city. It was very windy at the peak though and most of us were feeling the coldness. Went to see some wallabies in the wild after that. They were in a really huge enclosure where we could go in and see them. They were just a few metres away from me. No barrier between us and them. But they always ran away when we got too close. :(

But was really fun. Got to know friends way better than before and it was a really a good experience. Got kinda embarrased towards the end because of some person's description about me =p. But it was all great fun.

Craziness

Sorry people for those out of the world posts. Was just in a crisis these past few days. Now that I'm over it, I hope that moment of madness does not repeat itself. Just want to say thanks to all those concerned friends out there. Exams are coming up in a months time and there is going to be a lot of work to do. I will not be posting here that often anymore. Just have to focus on getting my required grades first. Till then, see you guys around =)

Why, Oh Why???

There clearly seems to have been a misunderstanding between us due to my previous post. How can you so easily misunderstand??? Its very difficult to write out the full magnitude of the problem here as I don't want to create more controversy than there already is and therefore, feel free to discuss the problem with me. It's probably my bad luck that I am unable to make things clearer to you at this stage but soon, you will understand.

My posts seem very weird and unexplainable. Why?? That's a question, even I cannot answer...

Icebergs & Mirages

Everything these days just seems to look too good from the outside. When you scratch and peel to reveal the inner truth, many people will be shocked. Its like the tip of the iceberg. So many things have yet to be revealed. Yet, people just get charmed by these deceits and just follow what their eyes compute. Sometimes, its better if one could spend some time researching on the next major step one is going to take in life before rushing into a decision. And yes, I have made a couple of hasty decisions before. Hopefully, this time around, my decision will not fail me like it did the last time. Take global warming for example. Those stupid scientist are finding ways to store carbon. Why waste so much money storing carbon when you can just stop doing inefficient things and reduce the carbon footprint. A lot of resources are being spent, researching on the consequences of global warming. These researching itself contributes to emissions of oxides. Similar to the human brain, we think about what to do next, but we don't really think twice of the effect of our actions on other things. Besides, every action has an equal and opposite reaction. Its 11.30 pm now and I'm getting a bit drowzy due to that sleep deprived brain of mine. Been allocating very limited time on sleep these days!!! Doing other crap seems more beneficial than actually going to bed early...
Latest addiction seems to be FiFa 09'. I'm hooked to that game!!! Can't believe it...

Hey, thanks a lot for being there for me when I needed you most.... You have really been of such great help for this past few days. I wonder if I would be able to get another friend like you ever again??? Breakdown was prevented thanks to you... And, i'm serious that tears of joy just flowed talking to you like this after such a long time... It's been really long since I talked my heart out to someone... Really, really long... How else can I thank god for giving me a friend like you to confide in, a person who I can talk on anything about to... I fell so much more lighter as if I have dropped all my burden for good... Thanks a lot once again and I hope to meeting you real soon when I get back...

The Power of the Mind

I have really been put in such a position that I wished I could read your mind better which in turn can help me solve some unanswerable questions that may seem obvious but not totally predictable. How I wish I could read your mind although it may not be the best route for a good beginning, but its seems to be the most promising one to me... Besides, whats the benefit of hiding this secret from me??? I ought to find out sooner or later right... So, why keep me guessing when you can just mention it to me. Common... It won't hurt... Not the slightest bit... I'm pretty sure it won't hurt sharing it... Besides, it will make my life a lot more easier if you could complete that list...

More Friends

It's been quite some time since I last posted something here and I feel so happy after last night's gathering, that I feel that I should write about it. Went over to the LOL group meeting on La Trobe St. LOL stands for Light On La Trobe. Its basically a care group that meets every Friday evening for Dinner and fellowship. So, out of the blue, I just decided to go and meet them up. Been a long time since I met Sky and Julius and the other guys at the care group. Met them at quarter to seven at the meeting place. Met a couple of new faces when I got there. Guess what, there were like almost 6-7 Malaysians there!!! And best of all, 3 of them are Penang fellas!!! Thats, Me, Sky & Julius. The other people that I met there were so friendly!!! There was this Sarawakian, a Singaporean and so many other people. We had a short ice-breaker, followed by dinner and then more getting to know each other session. After all that, they had a short prayer and it was like 10pm already. Time really runs fast when you are having fun. Looking forward to next friday!!! Hope to meet you guys again.

To my friends in Penang, how's studies coming along??? Wish you all the best in the upcoming exams and see you guys soon. =)

Hey guys, life these days is so full weird things. But there is no better weirdness then this download speed that I achieved in the Uni!!! I actually managed to achieve 1.2MBps but I just totally forgot to grab the pic at that time, so this is the best I have currently.... Not bad for free internet huh!!! This is what I call 1MBps speed, not what Streamyx so called claims to have!!! Hahahahaha..... Takes approximately 7 minutes to download 320MB of this file.....

Games Anyone???

Do you guys remember that there is a producer for games in this world called EA Sports?? The one that does all those sports. F1 and Golf and so many other games rite... Well, in Australia, there is someone that has gone one step further by creating an even better version of this company. Yes, better than EA Sports/Games. Thats right, even better than EA!!! I have never tried their games though, but the owner must be really smart to use such a name. He can be sued if EA Sports thinks its similar and creates controversy among its customers. That owner really brave lar... This company is called EB Games!!! Found it along the city when I was coming back from the train station. This guy has guts of steel to do this... The shop looks quite good, but why waste so much money on just one disk when I can get one disk for 5bux in Penang... Having my easter break currently and semester break for one week now. Rotting at home as usual!!! More updates are in the process of being put up. Just be a bit patient... =)

I'm Back

Hello people. How was the final post??? I decided to return to blogging because of various reasons... Melbourne has been pretty much just study-classes-study routine this past few days. Not much of activity to do besides planning out that "Final Post". Didn't take me that long actually to plan that post out. Anyways, I'll be back in July!!! Can't wait to see how DAP has taken care of Penang and obviously can't wait to see all those friends who are waiting to see me in Penang... Btw, Juli, the thing about me coming back in May was a April Fool's day joke and you so easily fell for it!!! Hahahahahaha.... At least I managed to fool you on more than one occasion and quite a few others as well. Oh, by the way, looks like Ai Chia has also fallen for the joke also. Unfortunately, Mr Wooi knew this trick already. To those who missed out, you can still try clicking this again"My Final Post"!!! Mwahahahaha.... I'll try to keep this Blog updated, but don't get angry at me in case I fail to do so yea... You people should understand Uni life can be a bit demanding...

Day Trip to Williamstown

Hey people, I'm back. Finally blogging after such a long time. Melbourne has been a great place. Went to Williamstown last weekend for a day trip. We guys met up at Federation Square at 10am, and off we go to Williamstown. The scenery on the way there was beautiful, saw the port, and so many different things. This past week has been so busy. I'll try to update more on this weeks activities as soon as possible. For the time being, enjoy the current post and do leave a review behind.

Laptops for Loan......

Been quite some days since I last updated my blog. Been busy with classes and the work is already piling up in the first week. Went to the Library today after Microeconomics to pass some time in between a class. Have like almost one hour between classes but then it takes like at least 15 minutes to get to another class and I prefer to be early at class so that the good seats are not taken up. End up with only like 30 minutes between classes. So decided to go to the Library for a short while. Guess wht?? We can borrow laptops from the Library!!! Thats like so damn cool!!! So, me and Amish borrowed the laptops and started surfing the net.... The laptops can only be borrowed for 3 hours at one time though, which is more than enough anyways. No wonder they call this things notebooks... There's even a barcode for them to scan as you take the notebook out just to keep track. Just like a regular reference book that you want to borrow.

Looking at some girl huh Amish??? Yup, thats my new friend Amish. Let me introduce him a bit. He's been living in Brisbane for a number of years already. He's originally from Zimbabwe. Bumped into him during week-O, and we have been friends since. Nice guy with a very business person type of brain. Oh, and by the way, he is a Gujju. He is in the same course as me as well, Acturial Science.

Looks like he has found something interesting on the net....

Lazy Saturday

Woke up at almost 9.30. Made myself a sandwich for breakfast. Lazed around till it was time to leave my room and go meet up my friends. Went to Port of Melbourne to have lunch at some Malaysian restaurant. Bad luck though, the restaurant was closed by the time we reached there. So we ended up in a restaurant with a healthy choice. Focaccia is the name of the delicacy. Taste quite good with bits of Feta cheese in there. I forgot to take a picture of it though, next time guys. Basically, the port here that we visited is the Gateway to Tasmania, an island that is South of Melbourne. Was so windy at the time we were there. Great housing community there too.

Didn't get a chance to take many pictures over there though. :( Then went for some grocery shopping with them and then back to their home. Watched some random movies while waiting for dinner to be delivered. After dinner, around 9 pm, started to head back home. Train station, here I come!!! Had a quiet ride back to my place. Managed to get a few pictures of the library in the city. Looks very pretty when it is lighted up at night.

Had a great day out today. Hope the people of Melbourne remain like this. Also not forgetting, to all those Formula 1 fans out there... I just passed by Albert Park today and i was like 30 meters away from the actual racing line!!! That was so cool!!! Hope I can go watch the race later this year... Anyways, its about time I go sleep. ASOC

Met Sky at this booth, ASOC, at the Uni society day yesterday. Took him a split-second to realise it was me. Lots to catch up on. He also invited me to his society dinner although i'm not christian. So, today at 6.30 as told by him, met him at his society house which is just nearby the Law Building. Met lots of people there. Met this final year Acturial Student, her names Sarah. Got a bit of a scare talking to her as she says its a tough course. Another masters graduate student, Vikram and so many more friendly people. I was the only non-christian there. However, luckily i blend in well with all of them. Nice day of socialising. Had a couple ice-breakers with all the people there. Oh, not forgetting, we had a sumptous dinner. Filled to the brim d. Great night... =)

Cleanliness

Ever wonder why countries like Malaysia would never remain clean??? Also the increasing number of landfills that are just reaching maximum capacity within a short time frame is due to the volume of garbage that is not recycled. There's a simple explanation to this. Unfortunately, the government has failed to realize this simple solution. There are just insufficient number of trash cans around city and all walk ways. Further more, when was the last a Malaysian saw a recycle bin in the neighbourhood??? Never rite!!! Well thats the reason why Malaysia will always have this problem with waste disposal. Check out a city like Melbourne. There's a trash can like every 200 meters you walk. Not only trash cans, most of the time a recycle bin too. If the entire Penang population stopped throwing rubbish for one day and sweep up the streets, it would just take another day for it to return to original. Why?? Because, there aren't enough collection bins located, so people like you and me just resort to throwing rubbish outside on the five-footway or through the car window. Sorry for this very delayed post. I have been very lazy to blog these days. Anyways, below are some pictures of the faculty of commerce. Its a brand new building. The Economics & Commerce admin just moved in a week ago into this new building. This building is called ' The Spot ' . The pictures below shall explain as to why this building is called as above. Its a very modern building compared to the century old buildings for the other faculties. However those century old building have managed to keep track with advancements in technology. Overall, its a very well planned university. The Union House as they call it, is like the hang out spot for students during lunch and free time.

Orientation was nothing great. Was just a couple of lectures on what to expect from your particular subjects. Also on the last two days, they had exhibitions by all the Societies and Sports groups in the Uni. Was great fun going booth to booth and listening to all their stupid explanations. Some were not stupid though. Oh, not forgetting, Niresh almost joined the Sri Lankan's society. He just loves the Sri Lankans!!! And Anand, just could not pursue his dream of becoming like Ronaldo. Too bad Anand, your stamina not good enough for Aussies!!! Hahahaha... Try harder next time. So, thats all for now, more updates coming up soon...

Melbourne!!!

Its been almost a week since I have been in Melbourne. Its a very well organized city. I rather not comment on the people here yet as its been only one week since I have been here. Had a lot of help from a very good friend. Managed to find accommodation after 2-3 days of hunting. Also had a superb shopping spree buying groceries and all the daily needs for my super small room. Had a great day on the 22nd celebrating a friends birthday at a Thai resturant!!! My first time eating at a Thai restaurant. Food was great, had lots of fun and laughter. Visited China town after dinner. Was a pretty nice place with lots of CHINESE restaurants and shops!!! Unfortunately, I was unable to cam-whore as I forgot my camera in my room. I shall upload some nice pics when I am done with my orientation which finishes this Friday.

A wonderful city with great people. Especially the friends that I am currently staying with now. Very well organized city with trams & trains everywhere. Its a must visit at least once in your lifetime. Till then, stay tuned to this blog, while I explore this very new city to me. I will keep you people updated.

Friday Gathering

Had a small gathering with friends at my house, before I leave for Melbourne. Didn't have an opportunity to take pictures when my friends were here. Also had a couple of mom's friends here. Had a simple dinner, some dessert, then for a tour around my house. Many pictures were not recognizable by someone huh.... Hehehe....Time has flown very fast and I no longer resemble my old self anymore. Not even a slight hint of my baby face remains... Jackfruit, coming soon people. Got a number of gifts from people that came over. Really should not have troubled yourself for the gifts.
